I personally am a fan of anything the Kinsella's are involved with. American Football, would probably be my favorite emo album...although Believes In Patterns by I Would Set Myself On Fire For You is fantastic too.

On topic!

John Darnielle's side project with Franklin Bruno of Nothing Painted Blue.

I decided to give their most recent album a chance, it's decent so far, I heard their old stuff was better so...

I got their debut album too.

@VF: I found American Football's S/T pretty uninteresting too.

Pocahaunted - Island Diamonds
I got this from Dankstra ( I think lol) and this is superb. Part Drone, Part Spacey Dub, Part Psychedelia. It works on so many levels. Damn, damn good.

 Great album. The waves of reverberated female chanting are so sensual...

I can hear it now: "WAYY-EE-AYY-EE-AYYYYYYY"

I got:

Leo Kottke - 6 & 12 String Guitar

I found his YouTube excursions mildly impressive, so I'm interested to see what caliber of songwriter he is.

I know my friend that let me borrow this one has another one of theirs. Before I download it, I'll see if that's the one.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Hypnos 69 - Timeline Traveller (2002)

This was more of an unfocused freestyle album that worked for a bit, but after awhile it's lack of focus became abundantly clear. I think the band kind of compensated for this by only having five songs on it, still there were some very enjoyable parts.

Hypnos 69 - Promise of a New Moon (2003)

I kept on seeing this band tagged as Stoner rock and I was curious as to why that was, well this album is the reason. It's a fuzzy with enough of a psychedelic twinge to it to really make it stand out. An interesting direction after their first album, but it works just as well. My only complaint is that it ends a little abruptly.

Hypnos 69 - The Intrigue of Perception (2004)

Probably their most progressive rock orientated next to their 2010 release Legacy. Easily my second favorite album (after the aforementioned), with some great jazzy, folk, psychedelic, and ambient sections. My only complaint is that the last song features 22 minutes of pure silence, kind of a waste of time, but whatever I won't hold it against them.

Hypnos 69 - the Eclectic Measure (2006)

I would say this one is probably the most accessible to people who don't really like progressive rock, but it definitely has a lot of it on the album. That said it's more like a collection of the 3 to 4 minute songs you would find in between the 7 minute + songs on progressive rock records. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about it, given a few more listens it might go to my second place slot, but currently it's my third favorite.

Neu - Neu!

I love you.

There's this track by Ciccone Youth on "The Whitey Album" called "Two Cool Rock Chicks Listening To Neu!" and it's basically just an audio recording of Kim and her friend Susanne (SY's lighting director) Talking about Dinosaur Jr. and they're listening to Negativland in the background (L)
