So I think you'll enjoy them. American Football is Mike Kinsella's best work, fool. Anyway, the last album I downloaded... Neu - Neu! |

Windir - Arntor (1999) Moonsorrow - Kivenkantaja (2003) Hypnos 69 - Legacy (2010) The first two are albums I've been meaning to get into for awhile now, but for some reason have always eluded me. The third is a progressive/ psychedelic rock album from this year that I've heard good things about. I'm just trying to get caught up before I'm assaulted next week with 5 new releases, 3 of which are on the 9th and two on the 8th. If I thought 2010 up till now had some good metal releases, November is going to rock my world. |

You should feel the same about The Devil & God, it isn't that long, it's like 45-50 minues long. One of my favourites, you should enjoy it.
American football is more honest, more sincere, more emotional than anything else Mike Kinsella has done. Beautiful melodies and a great sense of pain embodied in the music as well as the lyrics - not "slow ass-shit", by far the best thing he's ever done. |

Swans - My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope To the Sky
^ The new Swans album which I've heard much good word of and that I'm gonna ramble about for my uni's paper. The Blasters - American Music ^ And the old rockabilly/americana classic that I lost with hundreds other albums when my old hard drive crashed a couple of years back. |

Man VF what the hell is with your total aversion to anything over 40 minutes? It seems like every time someone posts about an album you don't like one of the reasons is that it's too long.

edit: and if the song is going to be more than four minutes, it better have some sick instrumental jamming going on because otherwise it is just repeating the hook too much...
