Menswear had more than their share of critics who pointed out that the band were extremely derivative and that they probably would not have been noticed had they not been five handsome and charming young men.

had heard it before but the cd is remixed and remastered, its very clean, intense thrash with a larger element of punk than most other big four thrash albums, which, although i dont like many punk bands, is enjoyable

I like that album a lot - I like the original version better but the crispness of the remaster is pleasant at times.
Totally disagree with you about the punk thing though. Megadeth (all of it) seems the least punk influenced to me

I just got that Fever Ray album.
At first I thought it was disappointing compared to The Knife but I keep listening to it - I think I've already listened to it more times in a few days than I ever listened to Silent Shout

O Emperor - Hither Thither
Another fantastic debut album from 2010. There's parts of this album that remind me of the timeless feel of My Morning Jacket, while in other parts Radiohead and Beatles influences shine through very nicely. Fans of Villagers will definitely love this, another great alt-folk album to immerse yourself in. Brilliant.

The Joy Formidable - A Balloon Called Moaning
This mini-album from last year shows a good bit of promise. This female-fronted band aren't exactly original but fans of Blood Red Shoes and Los Campesinos! will certainly love their brand of youthful, energetic indie-rock. Looking forward to their full-length debut which is being released sometime early next year.

The original version I was listening to before didnt really let you appreciate the musical prowess they were displaying, like the shreds on the first 4 songs, the main riff on killing is my business sounded dull on the original version. Thats probably why I listen to the remastered version more. About the punk element, I agree that the rest of the Megadeth albums have a small amount of punk but on this album, from the drumming I kinda get a stronger punkish feeling.

Intronaut - Valley of Smoke (2010)

I might finally have a beginner's guide album for people interested in post-metal, but are not the biggest metal fans. It's heavy enough to appease almost any metal head, and just soft and melodic enough not to hurt their 'ickle ears. A top contender against Rosetta's A Determinism of Morality for top post-metal album of the year.

[The] Slowest Runner [In All The World] - We, Burning Giraffes

Downloaded this today. Listened to it twice already and I am now convinced that it's one of the best post-rock releases of 2010. Right next to Efs Mourning Golden Morning and Her Name Is Callas The Quiet Lamb. I really like the name of the band. Pretentious... just the way I like it : D

Dawes

The last album I bought was Dawes - 'North Hills'

Fantastic if it hasn't been listened to.

I'd like to think I can handle the deeper stuff, but this was really good. You need to slow down on the awesome metal albums. I can't keep up.
