Hmm I should listen to it again then. I found the album incredibly boring, which was very disappointing since I have heard so many good things about Sunn O))).

Drone is a very iffy genre. Some people love it, but some people think it's a snore fest. You might like their album Black One better if it doesn't do anything for you.

Good luck, nonetheless!

The Sword - Warp Riders (2010)

Bands like this remind us why rock music is worth defending.

Fleshwrought - Dementia/Dyslexia (2010)

A refreshing death metal album that focuses on bone crushing brutality and then the odd horn section that catches you off guard. It's got some great drumming and some pretty impressive solos without descending into wankery.

So far it's only come up once, but it really caught me off guard. I assumed it would come up again but I'm 8/10 songs through and haven't heard it again, although there was this weird interlude track that was... different. It's a pretty decent little album all things considered, the drums are damn near perfect.

Of All the Things - Jazzanova

fantastic sample based electro-nu jazz/soul.

Tweak Bird - Tweak Bird (2010)

Was jamming out to their EP earlier and decided it was about time I downloaded the self-titled LP debut...

It's a guitar n drum outfit with most songs under three minutes and based off of a repetitive, deep guitar riff and pounding drums. Kinda like DFA 1979. They get labeled as stoner rock. I think you'd like based on your tastes for simple, short songs.

From their EP:
