Toss on some instrumentals. No lyrics to key in to and - at least for me - I've always managed to still pick out subtleties and such while working and listening to instrumental music.

One of the greatest. A few years ago I went out specifically to buy a copy of the CD for the first time. Well worth it..

The perfect ambient album? I'm beginning to believe it is so!

Lots of listening to do this coming week, which is probably bad since I have 4 midterms to study for.
Enjoy the Deep Purple. If time's an issue, be sure to give a listen to In Rock, Machine Head and Burn, first.

Washed Out - Life of Leisure

Great chillwave/synth-pop EP, can't wait for more

Goddamn Electric Bill - Swallowed by the Machines

They were responsible for one of the tracks that I liked on CanwllCorfe's latest compilation, so I decided to give their work a shot

Fredrik - Na Na Ni

Same as above

I really should be studying

Kalmah - 12 Gauge (2010)

It was OK but not as good as I was expecting from the hype surrounding it.

Black Sun Aeon - Routa (2010)

Some pretty decent death/doom metal, something which I've been trying to find more of lately.

The Fall of Every Season - From Below (2007)

Mournful, melancholic, and haunting, everything I was looking for, did not disappoint.

Sculptured - The Spear of the Lily is Aureo (1998)

I have to say I was a little disappointed with this one, it had some great moments but they were short lived and far apart.

Cynic - Focus (1993)

I was surprised that I didn't have a Cynic directory in my C folder. I remember listening to this album years ago when I was first getting into my progressive rock phase, but was pretty much exclusively listening to metal, this was an album I bought because the album reminded me of a progressive rock album. I must not have replaced it after my great hard drive crash of 2008.

Woods of Ypres - IV - The Green Album (2009)

The band's sound is described as blackened doom metal which just perplexes me. Black metal and doom metal are two vastly different sounds, so how you mix them is beyond me. However then I saw that this band is from Canada so it tickled my curiosity enough to try it out.

I assume that if you like Cynic, you like Death.

Jason and Sean, I think, were in Death.

Just wondering.

Scream Bloody Gore (1987) was what got me into death metal in the first place, I still have the CD
