Yes there is a new instalment and it's better than the first. More focused musically but still varied enough to hold your attention with some great remixes on board. http://funkysouls.com/img/Demdike_St...gh_Hearing.jpg Demdike Stare - Liberation Through Hearing. Astonishingly blissed out but very creepy and atmospheric electronic Dub although to call it Dub isn't really the right word. Think Burial without the drum lines and add a dollop of insidious malevolence and we are getting there. I am pretty sure this would be brilliant falling asleep to stoned. Drone music for the electric generation yet still easy on the ear. |
Thanks to MB recommendations I have added some more noise rock to my collection:
Melt Banana - Cell-Scape http://11.media.tumblr.com/rmLTnPovx...99tAo1_500.jpg Lightning Bolt - Wonderful Rainbow http://img.amazon.ca/images/I/613UiC-VBWL._SS500_.jpg |
^
Both excellent noise rock albums...especially Melt Banana. Their album "Bambi's Dilemma" is also really damn good. It's a bit more straightforward, but still has the Melt Banana feel. |
both of those are stellar albums
that is in my opinion Lightening Bolt's best album....if you like the Melt Banana check out their album 'Teeny Shiny'...i think it is Melt Banana at their absolute bombastic best i just got http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:T...540ca5.jpg&t=1 seems to be just what the doctor ordered |

Amesoeurs- Ruines Humaines and Amesoeurs
Chaz Knapp- Vie Comme un Parasite Faisant la Fête I gotta say Mr. Corfe, your taste really is rubbing off on me. :D Also, Yo La Tengo- I am not afraid of you and will beat your ass I'm starting to become pretty obsessed with this band. EDIT: I also picked up Alcest's new one, Ecailles de Lune EDIT2: Kenichi Fumoto- 美化 Unwound- Leaves Turn Inside You Villagers- Becoming a Jackal Looks like this is turning into a download spree. |
^^That's because Yo La Tengo never gets old.

I could never put my finger on why I actually like Yo La Tengo so much...maybe it's because their music sounds so unassuming and humble, despite being incredibly self indulgent. I Am Not Afraid of You And I Will Beat Your Ass is up there with I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One...not quite as good, but almost.

Yeah duga, you described it perfectly. Their music has so much going on underneath that seeming simplicity. I love them, they always manage to sound fresh somehow.
