GSY!BE - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven! (2000)

I'm giving it another chance. I want to like it, I really do.
Last time I tried, I didn't.
I hope I like it this time around.

Brilliant album, my friend's getting the artwork tattooed to his chest haha. I wanted to go see them but their date clashes with B&S.

@ CunningStunt Oh please, don't force yourself. That's the last thing you wanna do when you're trying to absorb an album and maybe enjoy it. In the end, you don't have to like anything just because it's critically praised.

It's not that, it's just the fact it sounded nice without drawing me in and entertaining me too much.
It's one of them that I may put on when I'm trying to sleep, but when I wanted to be conscious and enjoy it, I found myself wandering off.
That said, I've listened to a lot of albums in the past, disliked them and then when I came back to them I loved them.
So, we'll see if this is one of them.

He's not a tool nah, the artwork is really cool - the tattoo would look sweet I reckon. He is THE snobbiest person I've ever met though when it comes to music, puts some people on here to shame.

I dislike tattoos, I think they look council estate.

/snobby comment.

Post-rockers and Proggies are the most pretentious people when it comes to music I'd say.

Nah, not all tattoos are council estate, if they're done right they're good. Generally not a fan of tattoos myself though, but this is really nice. My friend has some Converge lyrics on his arm too which I love. Tribal patterns, stars, birds and chinese symbols can get ****ed though.. absolutely horrific, THOSE are the council estate ones.

My mate has 'Definitely Maybe' on his arm, in the same font as it is on the CD.

Cringe.

TCS I think GY! BE is 2deep4u.

But have you actually listened to any of their other albums? Every time I see you posting about them it's that you don't like LYSF but you keep bloody listening to it.

I see what you're saying. I have a complete opposite experience with that album. I used to adore it, listened to it daily. And now, after many years, I can barely make through it. I heard it recently to remind myself and, I don't know, the magic is just gone. I'm not sure why is that, but I suspect it has something to do with this kind of post-rock's manipulative, tear-jerking tendencies. I guess I'm not that easily manipulated anymore.
