Got these two on cd today

Mercury Rev - Yerself Is Steam
I thought i was getting their second album Boces but when i got home i discovered that the lovely girl that served me had put the wrong cd into the cd case, instead she had put in the cd for their debut Yerself Is Steam!! But halfway through the first song of this album i couldn't give a f**k, this is seriously tripped-out, mind-blowing stuff. There's so many layers of sound and so much going on, it's just epic. Must go back in for that Boces cd on monday :)

Mercury Rev - The Secret Migration
Also decided to chance getting this. It has a different line-up from their earlier days and a very different sound. It's in more of a song-orientated dream-pop direction but it still sounds amazing.

Owl City- Maybe I'm Dreaming & Ocean Eyes
Seeing what all of the fuss is about. Plus I LOVE checking out albums that are hated by the indie community because 90% of the time I enjoy them.
Sondre Lerche- Phantom Punch & Faces Down
Recommendations from khfreek that I took forever getting to. Per usual.
XTC- English Settlement
Many thanks to bob. for sending this to me!
Gang of Four- Entertainment!
I've been meaning to get this for a while, but never got around to it. With all of the recent talk about this band on here I thought it was finally time I got arsed to do it.
Electric Light Orchestra-Eldorado

Would either of these be the ideal place to go from Deserter's Songs?

The Blood Of Heroes - Self Titled

Justin Broadrick of Godflesh/Jesu/Techno Animal teams up with Bill Laswell for this oddity of dubstep. Will be interesting to see how it goes down.

So, this the third album I've picked up from them. I've only listened to Four Sail and Forever Changes so far. Can't wait!

Listening to this one right now. A few songs have stood out so far, but for the most part, it's alright.

I haven't actually heard Deserter's Songs yet, that's next on my list, but if you're going to get one of the above albums get Yerself Is Steam it's one hell of an album.

Yerself Is Steam is the first Mercury Rev album I heard in its entirety, after listening only to parts of Deserter's Songs on the radio. And I loved both, although they're very different. These two actually remained my favorite Mercury Rev albums.
