Various Artists - Minimal Wave Tapes: Volume One

This was on the rack as a staff recommendation at a local record shop. Looked interesting so I took note and stole it from the internets! Listening now, not bad but not mind blowing. Might play it just this once, but keep it in shuffle rotation. Only 4 tracks in though, so who knows. It might kick up a notch. Maybe not, it is called minimal after all.

!!! - Strange Weather, Isn't It?

I've known about !!! for maybe 6 or 7 years, but any samples I listened to previously didn't appeal to me. I recently swapped recommendation lists with someone and this was on her list. Samples actually appeal to me now, we'll see.

Tweak Bird - Bigbonesnakebite EP

I got their more recent EP Reservations yesterday and liked it quite a bit, so I'm getting more. Good stoner rock if you like Black Mountain, Floor, Danava, etc.

WALSH - Smoke Weed About It EP

I don't know...I just read that someone said this was "fucking brilliant", so why not. Never heard of it prior to that. Someone on last.fm says it "Goes with Com Truise in a gooooood way" so fuck me, I might like this a lot.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Wire - Pink Flag (1977)

Great punk record.

Superchunk - No Pocky For Kitty

I don't know why, but this album just doesn't click with me. It didn't click with me years ago when I first listened to it and time has not sweetened it.
Now this is a V&F list. I need to give Solid Gold a shot too because I also love Entertainment!.

I think of Superchunk as a singles band who you really have to love their sound to want to listen to their albums all of the way through. I think the best way to get into them is their singles collections like Tossing Seeds...

Skip Spence - Oar (1969)
Very interesting stuff. I'm a big fan of Moby Grape, and finally decided to check this album out. Wasn't disappointed at all. Highlights for me were the tracks "Weighted Down (The Prison Song)" and "Keep Everything Under Your Hat". Very highly recommended.

I know i'm a couple of pages late. But Drop Nineteens are one of the most frustrating bands in all existence. One decent album then a bootleg version of a terrific album which is sadly ruined by sound quality. *sighs*.

I haven't listened to the 2nd EP I got yet, but I liked the first one quite a bit. Will have to pick up the album soon too.

Looking back, I guess it was you I picked up the recommendation from.

Well, I stole it from somebody else on here so I don't deserve the credit. I wanna say it was music_phantom.

I'm gonna have to get that album too...
