Mantis - Mantis (1973)

Obtained a top-notch vinyl rip of this rare Canadian release recently, and its certainly a rather intriguing album at first listen. The guitar work gives me a major 1950's surf rock vibe at times whilst the synths and songwriting is more akin to the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, or some of the early prog. rock circa 1970. This shall be getting more spins in days to come definitely!

Saw them live last night and then found out that a new live album is out tomorrow, so it was a no brainer downloading this.

Too good to ignore @ £3

Released in the same year as his much lauded Solid Air album, this is much more experimental and showcases the man's versatility to a tee.

The remixed/expanded version and it's not good. I much preferred the original mix.

It was £1 so why the hell not?

Gang of Four - Solid Gold (1981)

Considering how much I enjoyed Entertainment (1979) it seemed like it was a logical step to move forward through their discography.

Wire - Pink Flag (1977)

Great punk record.

Superchunk - No Pocky For Kitty

I don't know why, but this album just doesn't click with me. It didn't click with me years ago when I first listened to it and time has not sweetened it.

Al Green. I find myself falling further and further in love with him as time goes on.

And yay for FFD! Can't wait to check that one out. :D

Surprised that you're taken with Loveless so quickly. It took me about 20 listens, and that's the case with a lot of people. They usually need a bit of time to get used to it, but once you do it gives you such eargasms.

Funny, I loved that album on second listen.
