Rival Schools - United By Fate
Found this album by chance in the used cd section of my local record shop. I remembered hearing the song 'Used For Glue' years ago and really liking it but i couldn't find this album anywhere and the band kind of fell off my radar. I'm really enjoying this album, it's a real throwback to the times when post-hardcore/emo hadn't yet been watered-down into the crap we hear today.

A Sunny Day In Glasgow - Ashes Grammer
Some nice trippy dream-pop reminiscent of Cocteau Twins and Slowdive, and with some nice dance beats thrown in. I'm gonna really enjoy this one.

Autechre - Tri Repetae
I've seen this lot mentioned quite a lot on MB lately, and i could use with some more IDM in my collection, so i've decided to check them out.

Hands down the most original and experimental shoegaze band out there. Their music doesn't sound like it should work at all let alone have melody...but it does. Layers and layers of guitars and static somehow interplay with each other to make some really beautiful music. Their debut is just a little bit better than this one, but both are still really good.

I'll definitely have to check out their debut. Ashes Grammer is brilliant though, i'm really digging the production and the way guitar lines just seem to appear out of nowhere. Their music twists and turns and just seems to take on a life of it's own.

I just bought this bad boy on vinyl during lunch today. I saw it sitting there in the record store and this being my favorite Belle and Sebastian album, I had to get it. Noice.

Tri Repetae is a pretty enjoyable album, it's very, very hypnotic. Yeah some of the tracks are pretty long but you don't really notice it.

Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 - Lovelyville (1991)

Last.fm keeps recommending me Thinking Fellers Union, so I thought I'd finally check it out. I found this description: "What if I told you there was a band out there that combined the screeching distortion of Sonic Youth and added it with the total absurdity of complete wackos Sun City Girls?" This should be good, can't wait. I hope I made a good choice in downloading this album first.

In accordance with IDM week. I want to see if these guys are worth the hype.
It's IDM week? Where have I been? Oh yeah, moving. Is there some IDM week discussion somewhere, or is it just your personal IDM week?

Last I got was: Sarin Sunday - The Lonely Hike

Same guy behind Com Truise, and also free.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
