I love the simplicity of that Black Keys album cover... it makes its point well!

thought I'd give this a listen, I really have no idea as to why it's taken me so long to listen to this. I think I was just really comfortable with the music I currently have.

on the third track right now and it's just completely clicking with me. <3

TOKiMONSTA - Midnight Menu

Some female-produced wonky/instrumental hip-hop/IDM apparently. We shall see.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Gastr del Sol - Camoufleur

I'm not sure if this is the best album to start off with. Starting with a band's final album usually never ends with anything good... So any suggestions on where to go from here, or is their earlier material more of the same?

^This album is more pastoral and pop oriented compared to their earlier ones. Good album. I'd recommend The Serpentine Similar (1993) and Crookt, Crackt, or Fly (1994). Mirror Repair EP (1995) is also very good. You can't go wrong with any of these, imo.

Swim - Caribou
Laid back electronic pop with hints of psychedelia. fun.

Fool's Gold - Fool's Gold
Tropicali influenced world music sung in Hebrew from California. found them in FIFA 10, and I'm glad I did.

I heard some of that at a record store yesterday. I liked some quite a bit, but other tracks made me decide I wasn't going to bother getting it.

Speaking of record stores, I'm so used to posting DLs in here that I completely forgot I actually bought some physical CDs yesterday. All I've had MP3s of already:

The Black Heart Procession - 2
Sonic Youth - Sister
The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come
Roel Funcken - Vade
Maps & Atlases - Perch Patchwork

Now some new downloads:

Sonic Youth - Murray Street

Wintersleep - Welcome to the Night Sky

Clinic - Internal Wrangler

I used to own this, about mid '00s. I thought it was just ok or not very good then, but maybe I'll like it more now. Things change, you know. That's why I decided I should never sell CDs again. But I did end up trading this one out within the past 5 years.

Welcome To The Night Sky is a really cool album. 'Weighty Ghost' and the album closer 'Miasmal Smoke and the Yellow Bellied Freaks' are awesome.
