Lair Of The Minotaur - Evil Power <------it's a link btw Downloaded this simply because the band's name sounded really cool. I've yet to listen to it, but I hope the sound is as epic as the name.

haha thanks. really i was giving my one friend a ride home last night and when we were almost at his house Motley Crue's "Wild Side" came on and we were blasting it going 75 mph, so that prompted me for some of their stuff today.

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
I have to say I used to like their debut, but after moving to Seattle in 2006 and constantly hearing the songs on rotation in the office, I started to want to murder kittens and stab my ears. I've hated the band since. Needless to say I never checked out their follow-up. The only reason I'm checking this out now is because a close friend informed me that it's based on a suburb of Houston TX (The Woodlands) where I resided from 92 to 96 and after moving to the city, was still my home base where most of my close friends and family were. And I checked out the samples on Amazon last night, doesn't seem as ear-damaging as the early stuff. We shall see. Menomena - Mines I liked their last album Friend and Foe, but I didn't love it. Just curious, and trying to keep the music in my ears relatively upbeat these days. Pylon - Gyrate I liked the song posted in the recommendation thread recently, so I grabbed this. It had been on my radar at some point in the past but I never got it. Converge - Jane Doe This is something that's been on my radar since about 2003, as I saw them live with some other bands I went to see. They didn't do much for me, the vocals are just overkill for me. But I'm finally checking it out now as part of a listening club on another forum. I'm playing it now and yeah, it's the vocals that kept me from ever getting into this band. I respect the musicianship, and listen to some other stuff that is similar, but with more intelligible vocals, even if only slightly more intelligible. This is just WAWAWAWAWAWAWA!!!!
