Taking a trip down memory road..
My favorite live Dave Matthews album. Brings back so many memories! My brother listened to this CD so much that even now I still remember the lyrics. That was probably around 8 years ago and haven't listened to it much since then. He must have had it in his CD player for a straight month |

The Congos - Heart of the Congos (1977) Bloody brilliant dubz: Lee Scratch Perry behind the production module of course does the whole thing excellent justice, but this would still be rather lethal in the relaxation department regardless of the guy's involvement. Little Anthony and the Imperials - Reflections (1967) Classy 50's-esque Frank Sinatra soundscaping meets Otis Redding croonery in this top class little record from the golden age of psychedelic soul. Gorgeous with a capital G for sure. Asia - Arena (1996) Most people know this group as prog. rock dinosaurs pulling of embarrassingly bad 80's rock for 20 years straight. This album, as far as I know in any case, is a surprisingly awesome and interesting exception in the band's discography: classical structures, some Latino and reggae touches and a fair amount of classic Hammond rock a-la Black Sabbath are melded with some fairly top form AOR songwriting, made legit in a sense thanks to the awesome vocal talents of John Payne. So what is this then? Well, think Magnum meets The Police circa Reggatta de Blanc and you'll be on the right track. Excellent and underrated all the way through.

That Asia album sounds quite interesting even though I'm not a huge fan. Have a link at all please?

One Be Lo - S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M (2005) Last.fm has been recommending me this artist for at least a year now and I feel guilty that it's taken me this long to get into him. I've listened to his stuff with Binary Star, but I'm really enjoying this solo album. |
