Okkervil River is actually one of my favorite bands so I'm definitely bias. They put on a great live show and Will is an amazing lyricist. I've probably listened to their albums way more than is healthy.

Just for the record though those aren't their first two albums. Give Black Sheep Boy a listen if you enjoy those because it's the shizznit too.

I meant they're the first 2 albums I've gone for. They were the last 2 in their discography, I just liked the look of 'em. If I like them I'll go for Black Sheep. I'm halfway through The Stages Names, sounds like a pretty decent album.

I'm not sure but since the girl is in red and the guy is in white they could be twisted together into a human peppermint stick. I see what they did there

!Forward Russia! - Life Process

Very cool 2nd album from Forward Russia. At first listen, I was not a fan, but everytime I relisten I love this album more and more. Very cool post-punk band.

I've heard the title track, and it sounds pretty decent (that lady's got a hell of a voice!), so I think I'll be getting that one myself soonish.

As for my first new musicks spree for quite a while...

Brendan Perry - Ark

^ Brendan 'Dead Can Dance' Perry's new album. Been waiting such a long time for this.

Jem - Down To Earth

^ Supposedly quite the eclectic mish-mash of styles with this one. I like the one or two songs I've heard, so what the hell eh.

A Fine Frenzy

^ If there's anything better than a hot redhead chick it's a hot redhead chick who makes cool music. That said, I haven't exactly been so impressed with what I've heard, but I'll reserve judgement 'til I've heard some more.

Kate Havenevik - Melankton

^ On the other hand, what I've heard of this little Norweigan maestro is very good stuff. Can't wait 'til I've got the time to give this one a full listen.

And finally...

Frou Frou - Details

^ This one should be fairly awesome from what I've heard too.
