Definitely worth the clicking of a few buttons, it could've been a special album if mixed and produced properly etc.

Shame it was only Sketches instead of the real thing. Because it's not the finished thing, it could be looked at as yeah well it's not Grace. But some people don't fully appreciate Jeff as a song writer, putting the melodies together. Some people just see him as the voice. Some of the song structures on SFMSTD are second to none. If his death didn't happen, I believe he would've made that album as special as Grace.

I went to the shop yesterday, so I bought some hard copies:

Jadal - Arabic Rocks (2009)

^It's the debut album by a Jordanian band called Jadal. I remember loving some I tracks, after listening to them briefly in my friend's car. If I found the complete album to my liking, and of a high quality, I shall review them in the Arabic Music thread.

Miles Davis - doo bop (1992)

^It's the guy's final studio album. Nothing much to add, about Davis here.

Funkadelic - Toys (2008)

^That's the only one I was able to find by them, and sadly that's the first album I pick up by them.

Kate Bush - The Kick Inside (1978)

^Her debut, the ultimate place to begin... A beginning that is long overdue.

The rest of the list ... A couple of guilty pleasures.

Serj Tankian - Elect the dead (2007)

^The famous debut of Serj Tankian.

Etienne Daho - Daho pleyel Paris (2008)

^I love Etienne Daho, and all I know about this live concert, is that it includes the track "Comme un Boomerang", a tune that I got addicted to 2 years ago. It's originally composed by Serge Gainsbourg, but the first time I heard it (and kept hearing it), it was sang by Etienne Daho. Enjoy V

*Plus it says on the back, there's a duo with Charlotte Gainsbourg, and another one with Jane Birkin (Yeay!)

Unbelievably enough, I found myself downloading the most recent owl City album... my wife wanted it, and somehow in the process I wound up liking it... I know, I'm not usually taken by such pop music offerings... but this ones kinda catchy in a Postal Service knock off kinda way...

DMX Krew - The March to the Stars

Image links to sound samples page.

Quote:
19 track CD album from DMX Krew on Legowelt's label featuring mellow synthfunk, soundtrack and library electronic grooves and so forth.

The legendary DMX Krew aka ED DMX brings us 19 tracks of english eccentric electro masterpieces recorded between 1997 and 2009. From rural 70s Brititsh TV-programme introtunes to his unresistable electrofunk sound!

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I don't understand the Owl City hate I guess...his recent album did have some comically bad moments (Dental Care is beyond cringe-worthy), but his first EP and LP were generally solid. Yes, it's somewhat of a Postal Service knockoff, but let's be real here: Postal Service released one album. Sometimes the lyrics do get a bit cheesy, but when I see him compared with Brokencyde or other **** I just don't buy it.
