Excellent Death Metal on the rise. This EP can be downloaded for free via their MySpace, etc. Majesty is currently holding 1st place in the Vans Warped Tour Battle of the Bands.

The Company Band- Self Titled

Super group with members of Fireball Ministry and Clutch. I'll listen to any band with Neil Fallon in it.

Went a bit nuts with the downloads today. These should keep me occupied for a while at least.

The Left Banke - There's Gonna Be a Storm

Billie Holiday - Lady In Satin

Erik Satie - Piano Works

Miles Davis - Round About Midnight

Also managed to get hold of some random David Ackles compilation at the same time.

Nice choices there.

Side note: I dont know why, but I love jazz album covers.

Well there are a lot of great ones out there, most of them designed by Reid Miles.

Aesop Rock - Daylight EP
I thought I'd had just about everything that I wanted or needed from the man, but after going through his discography I realized there were a few little stragglers, like this EP. It's been ages since I've heard it, but I haven't had to chance to really sit down and give it a good listen this time around. I do know that there's an interesting alternate version of the song Daylight on here called Nightlight, which is basically the classic
song with a different beat and modified lyrics.

Grant Green -Live at the Lighthouse
Grant Green was one of the eminent guitarist in the realm of 60's and 70's acid jazz, and this live album, as a whole, is far from amazing, but I had to have it for the live versions of Windjammer and Jan Jan. Both songs clocking in at over 12 minutes, are groovy as hell, and definitely worth acquiring the whole album.

Edit: Bulldog, big thumbs up on the Billie, Miles, and Satie. Does the Satie album include all or any of his Gymnopedies?

Yeah, I just loves flipping through my jazz albums and looking at the covers, just a musician, his instrument of choice and coloured hue on the photo.

I think so. I know Lent et Delouroux, Lent et Triste and Lent et Grave are al on there at least. Haven't listened to them yet, but all I've heard (and loved) before is Nocturne no:1. I need some more classical piano stuff besides Rachmaninov as well, so the comp should go down a treat.

Got some compilations to broaden my listening horizons.

25 Years Of Rough Trade Shops

Rough Trade Counter Culture 08

These should keep me amused for a bit, can up if anyone wants. That Disc 2 of the 25 Years looks tasty.
