^ The Cult are awesome, a great bridge in the gap between 1970s guitar rock and new wave bands. I don't really like Electric though, by that point they were well into the glam metal phase of their career & the production makes it sound horribly dated. Still top notch band though, they reformed a couple years ago and put out a new album since then.

A lot of die hard Cult fans dislike Electric and I can completely understand that, as the previous album Love is a classic but there is something about that album that I love. The utter simplicity of it and I personally love the production of the album. Superb drum sound even if the album was dated even back then in '87. It is a guilty pleasure.

OMFG. I wish I still smoked weed, this would be perfect. Pink Floyd's Set The Control For The Heart Of The Sun with a couple of heavy riffs here and there is a good summation of the album. Stoner Rock without the cliched riffs but all the atmosphere=win.

I'm right there with you on this. I think it's just because I wore the **** out of the album...probably around the same time you were , so it's a great album for me by association alone.

I still do smoke weed, so I Think I'll take a crack at this. Sounds like a winner.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.
It may grow on me but I don't know. It's weird.

My bad, it's "Jesus That Looks Terrible on You" by A Big Yes and A Small No.

Neat cover though.

Alcest - Écailles de Lune (2010)

Looks like the Album of the Year leaked a bit earlier than expected. And yes, it's really really really fucking good.

Ok so I just checked out that artist on last.fm and I'm super confused because the tags say that it's: Shoegaze, black metal, and post-rock. All different styles of music. What would you say it is?
