Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - B.R.M.C.

I thought I still had this album but apparently it was lost between my transitioning from hard drive to hard drive.

Solid album. Their second one was decent too. I actually really like Baby 81 too but plenty disagree with me.

You should definitely go for Everything Must Go and Lifeblood next if you end up liking those two you just got.

I think i told her the same thing. I cant remember in which order, i cant remember where Gold Against The Soul was mentioned. But Everything Must Go is obviously worthy of a listen, Lifeblood is both completely different and so under-rated and i suppose Gold Against The Soul is lacking in direction and is probably worth getting to fill in the gap between their two best records.

Not yet, haven't gotten any free time...

I'll just get their discography. :p:

hey look, here's what i got, was given these the other day

Butter 08 'Butter 08' (1996): one-off collab on Grand Royal of some Japanese people and some guy fron Jon Spencers Blues wotsit. Seems alright. Prefer the heavier grittier stuff on here to the Beck-ish nonsense atm, gets a bit chirpy in a mid-90s kind of way

Pete Townshend 'Empy Glass' (1980): much, much better than what the Who were doing by this point. Nice ambitious, big-budget errr rock album. Not sure how else to describe it. Still tight as a duck's arse though

Yello 'You Gotta Say Yes To Excess' (1983) - I have 1980's debut 'Solid Pleasure', and it's quite difficult to sum up Yello 'cause there's so damned diverse. Broadly synth-pop. Often club-oriented and a bit industrial** on this album. Suitably mental, they spice up what would otherwise be quite run-of-the-mill stuff with a seemingly endless array of weird samples and sonic U-turns

p.s. where's the props for 'Know Your Enemy' in this Manics love in eh?!

** i said industrial, i meant EBM

^ This Yello's album description sounds very intriguing, any uppings?

I forgot about these:

Kyoto Jazz Massive - Spirit Of The Sun (2002)

Something like Return To Forever meets Massive Attack in this absolutely glorious sounding acid jazz release. Probably going to be my "wake the hell up its morning" album for awhile.

Asobi Seksu - Citrus (2006)

Was impressed by some YT vids that got posted around MB and decided to pick this up. Glowing, wonderful sounding look-at-my-shiny-shoes pop that hooks you in pretty fast.

Genesis - Duke (1980)

Contrary to preconceived beliefs, this is a pretty damn good album that balances the best aspects of Genesis's later pop years with their more energetic/complex prog. roots. Recommended to the skeptical and enthusiastic alike.

As a whole I think it's a decent album, but I do love 'Misunderstanding', definitely a 5-star track, and a few others on it are worthy of 4 stars.
