^^ok
here's my take:- Cream I'll have to go with this, really. Having a jazz rhythm section playing blooz is classy, and the songs themselves are ingeious, with really interesting and somewhat bizarre imagery. And it has the fiercest leads ever from Clapton. Hendrix I would vote this if this was the expanded edition with the A and B-Sides of his early singles. As it is, it is Hendrix 101, with only the title track being the stand-out track. The 'Oo I actually wanted to put Sell-Out but heck, let's give the other two a chance. Spoilt by a totally pointless meandering Underture, where they noodle over a two-chord structure, I also found the short linking songs to be better than the "actual" songs. Given that their are two versions of the The Jimi Hendrix album, I guess we can vote for any version. When I think of AYE? its actually with the singles included as that is the version I have on CD (the band members with a dark background) I put the yellow cover as I`m certain this was the original version when it was released first here in the UK. As far as I know the version that was released in the USA includes all the singles, whereas the British version is without the singles, for that reason both versions are valid. Admittedly, the version without the singles is a great album but with the singles it becomes one of the greatest of all time.

Are You Experienced - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The yellow cover version is actually the US cover whereas the dark cover is the UK and international cover, now thats straight-forward enough. |
