Nice, I love both albums but The Real Thing is a clear winner for me.

Damn this is hard. I love both bands and love both albums. That said, I think Nothing's Shocking has aged a lot better than The Real Thing so I'm voting Jane's.

True that it has aged better, mostly due to production. But The Real Thing had a bigger impact on my musical map.

Dear Nirvana Fanboys,
If Nevermind drove the stake through the heart of hair metal, these 2 albums pinned it to the ground & pummelled it into unconsciousness first. I don't listen to either album much these days but if I was to put one on it would be The Real Thing as it has more sentimental value. 2 - 2

Not my favourite albums by either band and despite preferring Jane`s Addiction to Faith No More in general, I remember the Faith No More album being the better of the two.

Out of these two I have to go with The Real Thing, it's definitly the more ground-breaking of the two and completely broke down some genre barriers. It's such a great mixture of styles including pop, thrash, hip-hop, funk, hard-rock, new-wave, and god knows what else, all thrown without any regard for musical norms. Nothing's Shocking is a fantastic album as well. It is heavily influenced by the likes of Led Zeppelin but they added their own original twist to update hard-rock for generation-x.
