Although Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is not my favorite Pavement album, I will still vote for them. Pavement generally hooks me much easier and although they were beginning to bore me when I was listening to them extensively, whenever, after long periods, I get back to them, I'm hooked again.

On the other hand, I've always had problems with Guided by Voices. I will love some songs here and there, but they lose me when I have to listen to whole albums. And Bee Thousand makes no difference. Maybe I haven't given them a proper chance to grow on me, but I really don't have the energy for that now.

Pavement 5
Guided by Voices 6

Neither of these albums strike the same chord with me as some of the earlier postings, but I'd have to go with TV on this one, just because I think the songwriting is a lot more consistent.

I'm running it but I got tired of having to keep making up battles because people didn't PM me their own, so I stopped making them. I'll be happy to run it again if people PM me their suggestions and I'll put them up.

For what its worth, viewing public, let me say that this thread is a great idea but its a one-way street.

The set up isn't hard but its a pain in the ass, and you'll get 5 to 7 members to participate with one sentence lines.

There was a time when the boards use to come in and brawl over whatever. Look back tot he early ones, its all there. Now, you can't get a fight from:

"[Album A]. Not a fan of [Album B]"

I feel like I'm bitching about things like this all the time but its true. If people think this game sucks, I highly encourage you to make one up with better participation, but truth be told its never easy to do.

And for god sakes don't over-regulate that damn thing. When Boo Boo ran it we had obnoxious guidelines that made it unfun.

or they could just post the battles themselves and cut out the middle man, provided they have the good sense to make sure one isn't going already

Well, I sent one to TCS so I'll just go ahead and post it myself. I doubt my bestest pal will mind...

(you two are guaranteed to love my matchup)
