More like Kraut Rock = Progressive or Avant-Rock in Germany

EDIT: And if you meant what's the meaning of the word kraut, here's what wikipedia says:

Quote:
Kraut is a German word recorded in English from 1918 onwards as a derogatory term for a German, particularly a German soldier. Its earlier meaning in English was as a synonym for sauerkraut, a traditional German and central European food.

No I didn't mean a literal translation. I'm pretty good with American slang. Still, Classic Rock was progressive then. Hendrix, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Yes, what have you. Thats all classic rock. And it was all pushing boundaries. So it sounds like we've made up a genre for 4 bands who happened to sing in English.

I'm sure, if you stretch that term enough, everything was progressive at some point. As for the word kraut, since English is not my first language, I had no idea if that slang was obsolete or still in use.

Yeah you're right, but that sounds like a staccato version of floyd and young.

Its not still in use here in the states, but in the 40's/50's it was widely used.

Hey Snarkatron, the threads for discussion. Stop harshing on my mellow.

The song was pretty great. the "solo" I guess you'd call it was even better. I might check out the album.
