He gave me the choice of going with Doolittle or Surfer Rosa and I went with Dolittle because

1. It's better.
2. People who say Surfer Rosa is better are just being pretentious.

Haha I support this.

I'll go with Doolittle because while I really like both albums, Doolittle is just easier to listen to and more straight-forward. I've got to be in the mood for Sonic Youth, although 'Teen Age Riot' is the best song on either.

Both great albums but Daydream Nation is the superior for me. The soundscapes of it are incredible. Doolittle is fantastic but Frank Black's vocal mannerisms is something I have to be in the mood for.

what soundscapes? doolittle is by far more musically diverse. most songs on daydream nation sound the same.

I don't agree with that at all. Doolittle is more diverse I agree but eh, I don't think that makes it the better album. In Through the Out Door is more diverse than Zeppelin II that doesn't make it a better album.

thats not the only reason why it's better. sonic youth sound so mechanical and distant and boring and plodding. i tap my toesies to doolittle.
