No you made that part up. I don't think I said anything about the Black Keys. I own 3 of their albums. I happen to like thickfreakness better than RF and I think the most recent albums are the best by far.

You said "I love the White Stripes but that particular Black Keys album bests them. It's not like the Keys don't also stand for all of the things you posted above. They just don't get featured in magazines like Jack White..."

Its not what they stand for its what they did. Thats why I asked if you'd read anything. I don't see Jack White in many magazines the Keys aren't in. It also helps that Jack plays in 3.5 bands and is just generally more around. I happen to think the Black Keys are the ****. If you read my first post you might have grabbed that, I'm just saying JW and the Stripes mean more than music to me.

this statement seems a bit overblown. don't people get this "idealized vision" from being inspired from good music in general? who cares if it's janitors or walmart employees or whatever? what difference does it make?

you made quite the monolithic post for me to disect sorry i don't have much more to add then that. i enjoyed it though, thanks!
Nah its all good man. I just wanted people to know it wasn't like "these new posters suck" type comment.

You were complaining that people weren't appreciated the Stripes--I was trying to tell you that I do appreciate the Stripes, but I happen to appreciate Rubber Factory even more...

A very tough choice, but with the risk of being run out of Minneapolis on a rail, I vote for Murmur.

Murmur for me too. Not that Let It Be isn't good, it's just that Murmur is better.

Let It Be: 0
Murmur: 2

Wow, I can't think of a much closer match. On one hand, we have Let It Be which contains some of the greatest punk angst ever recorded, but on the other hand, Murmur is such understated magic. Make that 3-0.
