Stone really does seem sh*t, I've not seen all of his work but from what I've seen he seems terrible. I remember Tarantino getting p*ssed off at someone for rewriting his work, he says if you want me to write, fine. But don't f*ck with my work, I can't remember if he was talking about Stone or not..

I thought Platoon, Wall Street and Born On the Fourth of July were very good. JFK was pretty good too as long as you realise it's just revisionist entertainment and not a history lession. I think Stone started out good but JFK should have been his last film.
I think as a director he's talented, but he's always had a taste for over the top sensationalism. He made great films in the 80s. But once the 90s came around it seemed like he would attach his name to any controversial subject he could get his hands on, just because he can. |

Yeah, I think that's a lot of people's problem with him. If you're going to do a film based on past events, then use facts. Not like what he did in The Doors.
Unless of course you want to make a really obvious film like Inglourious Basterds, that's quite clearly not based on real history. Stone didn't do it like Tarantino, Stone changes things and they aren't massive things a lot of the time. Just little things and you think no, what? That isn't right... Though I do need to see more of his films before I judge him. |

Seriously, boo boo, either update this thing more often or let somebody co-manage it...

YOU HAVEN'T HEARD Rubber Factory?!?! WTF!?!?
Tehe, whatevers, man. I think it rocks, but maybe it's not your thing. As for the two albums, I prefer The White Stripes as a whole but Rubber Factory is so good that it challenges anything The Stripes have ever released, IMO. If this were De Stijl this would be a lot more difficult. Battle 2000s garage-rock-revival: Rubber Factory 1 White Blood Cells 1
