i like the highlights of drums and wires more than anything on fear of music(making plans for nigel, ten feet tall and when you're near me i have difficulty). however, the rest doesn't do much for me. i vote fear of music.

Is it troll season around here lately?
Hey listen, in 5 years when you realize I'm right about this one too, you can apologize. Put it on your calendar.

I'm not trolling, I think CC are terrible and that you like a lot of terrible music and that you are never very good at explaining your point of view which makes you very annoying.
If in 5 years I stop liking XTC and start listening to Counting Crows I've given family members specific instructions to kill me in my sleep. Last edited by boo boo; 07-16-2010 at 11:05 PM. |

A personal attack is and has always been a troll attempt. Just let it die, you did it. I don't care but personal attacks = suck arguments.

A troll is an attempt to enrage other members of the forum which by my criteria makes your comment about people who like XTC having bad taste being a blatant troll.
I'm just telling you I find you annoying which is something everyone knows to be true anyway. I try to keep that sh*t to myself but sometimes you make it too hard for me. But yeah PM me if we are gonna continue this. |

If this is the case, you ought to make it public knowledge. Backing your pick shouldn't be against the rules of the game.

Back on topic...
Because it's up against Drums & Wires I'd have to go with Fear of Music. But if it was up against English Settlement it would have been a totally different story.

I know XTC has great material in the 80s that's often considered better like Skylarking and that's just a testament to the awesomeness of this band because Drums and Wires is one of the best albums of the late 70s IMO. Their 80s stuff is much slicker and mature (I love their pyschedelic pop phase a lot) but I love D&W for the rawness and craziness of it, but it's a very technical kind of rawness that as a proggie is easy to go gaga over.
It beats Fear of Music for me but not by much, though if I was pairing it against Talking Heads 77 or Remain in Light the TH would probably win because I prefer those to Fear Of. Last edited by boo boo; 07-17-2010 at 12:49 AM. |
