Stairway's a good old number alright, but it's one of those songs that i've just heard to many times and burnt out on. But the first time i ever listened to the song on cd it nearly sent tears to my eyes it was that good. Hope this doesn't spark a big 'Stairway To Heaven' debate...

same here. Take it to the Bridge!!! hehehe
and i also always really liked Misty Mountain Hop, then again i also really like Get on the Snake by Soundgarden (they're basically identical riffs). as for LZ IV - i can't stand The Battle of Evermore, Going to California, and Stairway to Heaven. especially the first two, everything else is ace but damn near half the album makes me cringe. edit: it's not a matter of whether or not Disposable Heroes is a better song than Stairway to Heaven but by how much it is. |

Stairway is overplayed but still a great song. Going to California is actually one of my favorite Zep songs and I like Battle of Evermore too in all it's Tolkien nerdiness, granted Fairport Convention and Comus did that kinda thing better.
HOTH and IV are the two Zep albums I like from beginning to end. |

IV > MoP
Zep's monster seller has a bit too much of the Fantasy going on, although "Black Dog" and "Four Sticks" seriously are solid Zeppelin. I was never really that much of a fan of Metallica, and while MoP did spark a better kind of Metal scene in The States after a too much Aqua Net was going around in The 80's, it still sounds a a bit too-forced and heavy handed. |

Maybe it's me and those "Troubled Albums" that actually have some unique moments > just solid kicking out the jams, but ITTOD is not all that much of a mess to me, although "All My Love" is clearly a skip track and a half and "Hot Dog" is filler that's not even as amusing as "Boogie With Stu." Still, I may change my opinion as the Last-Year Yardbirds happenings used on the first album were the best ones and they sounded strong along with the solid jamming beyond those. EDIT: There was a change in opinion...after some thinking. It makes my observation stronger. Last edited by Screen13; 07-08-2010 at 12:13 AM. |

Its actually a tribute song for Robert Plant`s son, its written with great feeling (obviously) and therefore a shame to just simply skip it. Last edited by Janszoon; 07-08-2010 at 09:43 PM. Reason: fixed quote |
