Aladdin Sane 2 The Doors 4 His lyrics may be pretentious but they're certainly not boring. Morrison is one of the least boring frontmen in rock music history. |

Considering my favorite band I have nothing against pretense.
And no I don't think Morrison took himself THAT seriously as a lyricist, the guy had a sense of humor he just had a very deadpan delivery, nobody would make songs like Land Ho! and The WASP with completely serious intentions. His lyrics are full of humourous play on words and that's one of the things that made The Doors one of the most entertaining bands of the era. |
