If he likes trapt, heres a few bands. I won't list albums for most of them 'cause I aint big into the bands to know which are good and which aren't.
Papa Roach (there most recent stuff, the one with getting away with murder is similar to trapt) Chevelle Shinedown Staind Seether You could try some Disturbed, Atreyu (suicide notes & butterfly kisses) and KoRn too. |

To answer the question at 9/10 years old I would say anything hard , loud or fast. When I was that age I was given stuff like Sex Pistols , Buzz****s , The Damned , AC/DC , Judas Priest , Sabbath and Maiden. If he hates rap then punk & metal is the obvious way to go.

I don't know what kind of music your brother prefers to listen to but you can't go wrong with the Beatles, the Foo Fighters, the Beastie Boys, Incubus, or Matchbook Romance. I recommend Foo Fighters - In Your honor/ The Colour and the Shape Incubus - Make Yourself Rage Against the Machine - The Battles of Los Angeles / Renegades Beastie Boys - SOlid Gold Hits (has their # 1's) Peace
