Haha. Nice!

Speaking of musicians from there, are you familiar with Mike Kelsey? I saw him play a couple times back when I lived in Chicago and was pretty impressed. If he's still around there and you've never seen him he's worth checking out, he's an absolutely amazing guitarist.

I agree...I saw him my freshman year of college right around the time he released November. It surprises me every time I run across a new musician from Lafayette that is good...besides the college town part of it, it is kind of a barren wasteland and the only real scene here is either emo or death metal. And not good death metal, either.

Heh. Yeah, it seemed like a nice college town the couple times I visited it but certainly surrounded by a whole lot of nothing. And I remember being shocked at how the whole downtown seemed to close down in the afternoon.

weren't Axl and Shannon Hoon cousins? or was that just a big urban legend? might have to do with Hoon having done guest vocals on 'Don't Cry'.

I always heard that they were cousins as well but I suppose some newbie on here, will come along to trash that notion as well.

I've never heard that they were cousins, just friends.

I would lean on the friends theory, since they worked together before and such...
