What i am asking is who is the BEST guitarist?

I would have to say that Dimebag Darrel (ex PanterA) would beat this hands down. Christ he knows how to play! Pinch haronics everywhere. The shear speed at which he plays is incredible. He defn gets my vote!
playing heavy metal is the ultimate test of endurance in a metal guitarist
the speed that they play at is awesome and when they can still keep up that phenominal pace at the end of a hectic gig, then even a metal hater can appreciate the pure raw talent.

i agree with you about Dimebag, he was the ultimate guitar hero, he wa sone of the people whos music inspiredme to pick up a guitar in the first place. RIP.

However, when it comes to defining acoustic talent, my vote would lie with nick drake, his music is a highly organised work of guitar fretwork and he created a new genre to inspire all guitarists .
