Slash ok Jimmy Page, if you like him why not listen to the guitarist that influence him like Hank Marvin, Cliff Gallup, and Les Paul. |

Wow. I can't believe you put John Mclaugin, who doesn't exist, and Slash on your list of top guitarists. Jimmy Page maybe; he was good but not that caliber. If you meant John Mclaughlin, well, that's not much better.
Jimi Hendrix. End of discussion. Thank you for trying. |

It's hard to pick just one, so I'm going to say:
Peter Buck (R.E.M.) - This guy is so underrated in mainstream circles. Nancy Wilson (Heart) - She's just amazing. B.B. King - He didn't earn the name "Blues Boy King" for nothing |

I'm certainly a huge fan of both Mr. montgomery and Mr. Farlow, but if you think that all John McLaughlin does "blow his whole solo with one supersonic indistinguishable note after another", then not only haven't you heard all of what he's done, you've actually heard very little. P.S. this thread should be merge with any of the magnitude of "favorite guitarist" threads. |
