the reason more people don't use an actual bow on their guitars is because you pretty much need to dedicate one specifically to a bow. or you can just buy yourself an ebow and save yourself the mess (but that only works for single notes)

rosin on guitar strings is really messy

and if you want to be able to sound more than just alternate between sounding all the strings or just the high and low Es the bridge needs to be rounded a bit to give access on the bow.

it really is a unique sound, especially when making a full chord ring but it's a messy hassle.

Hendrix is a true genius indeed but i have to answer Jimmy Page. He was able to create perfect riffs and to write great songs (the rain song for example)

There's two considerably well known artists doing it... It gives you a very ethereal sound that you can't really get otherwise. Nothing funny IMO, and I really don't care all that much for Paige/Zeppelin.
Let me guess, Page stole it from them, amirite fellas?

i'd have to go with a classic, jimi hendrix. For one thing, i think that his technical skill is amazing, and he's got a style that's truly unique. Mostly though, its the passion and energy he puts into his riffs, absolutely unbelievable and unmatched in my opinion.
ya hendrix. (i bet you all thougt i was gonna say kirk hammett or dave mustaine or kerry king)

Ya Jonny Greenwood went back in time and did it before Page because he's THE BEST

I was defending Page.
