I think Jimi Hendrix is a wee bit overated, i mean he's good, but there's better.
I think Eric Clapton is one of the best and one of my favourite, but too me id have too say Eddie Van Halen stands above everyone else |

^ I don't think hendrix is overrated at all, but then everyone has different tastes. Personally, one of my favorite guitarists is hendrix, just because the guy is all about style, emotion, innovation, and he's got undeniable talent. In addition to hendrix, page is arguably the best guitarist to have walked the earth. Unbelievable technical ability, plus alot of style, and amazing versatility. Both these guys created some of the best guitar music ever written, not to mention inspiring countless others who followed. Teppie Tereshini, great technical ability, but what I really love about his style is that its flowing, seamless. If you listen to some thrice songs, there's never any one section that sticks out or sounds out of place, but then that's mainly attributed to great composition. Some other bands try to add solos or riffs in just for the sake of having a really great solo, but no matter how great it is, if it doesn't flow naturally from the rest of the song, it just ends up sounding bad. Thrice composes great music, and tereshini just takes it to the next level.

hahahahhahahahahahaha <falls out of chair>....jack white the best? dude, i seriously hope your joking. i guess the riffs in Seven Nation Army, and The Hardest Button To Button are even anywheres near other guitar work (ex. Little Wing-SRV/Hendrix, Layla-Clapton) and like a billion other songs. I would even say Johnny Ramone was better than Jack White, and the Ramones arn't exactly the most talented band. I do like Jack Whites stuff though, don't get me wrong, I just don't think hes more talented then some other dawgs. check out www.dannyjoecarter.com for some true sexy guitaring
