People often use "unique" as a synonym for "different" or "unusual." Things can be degrees of different or unusual.

What determines right in your view in this case (especially if not usage)?

So sorry but you'll never get an answer from him.

I'd forgotten about this cover. I still love it. But here's another absolute slam dunk of a Tom Waits cover.

Theoretically, I should like Tom Waits; I like a lone voice with eccentric lyrics, but have never yet put in the time to properly listen to his stuff.

That "Bambina" clip, though, put a smile on my face this Sunday morning. Thanks for re-sharing it.

...which led me to this little exchange:-

Good old MB, always ready to go off-topic if it can find an issue petty enough ! In a similar vein, this is my two cents on TW: he is the only artist I know whose name is a grammatically complete sentence: Tom waits.
Geddit?! I bet Trollheart and Zhanteimi would.

You mean like "Tom Waits For No One" ? I think that was off the Rolling Stones album , It's Only Rock n Roll.

Is that right, rs ? Of course, I should've known that someone else had spotted the possibility of playing with the name.

Yeah, Lisna's right. Sentence could be like this:
Rain pours down. Nasty night. Tom pulls his coat around his shoulders. Tom Waits. Nobody comes.
