A great, but under-appreciated album it seems like. Diamonds on My Windshield is probably my favorite from that album.

Rain Dogs is such a fantastic album. I could never get sick of it.

Only heard Rain Dogs and Bone Machine so far, but they were both great.

I still think to find his best record you have to go back The Heart of Saturday Night. Looking through his discography on someone on Wiki wrote that
Quote:
In 1989, Spin Magazine named Swordfishtrombones the second greatest album of all time.
There's no link to the source for that on the Wiki page but if that's true it's got to be the greatest overrating of an album I have ever heard of. Talk about pulling the wool over a critic's eyes!

I agree that Swordfishtrombones is kind of an overrated album. I've always found it very hit-or-miss, but honestly I'd say the exact same thing about The Heart of Saturday Night. There are a bunch of good songs on there but a bunch of tracks I usually skip over as well.

To be completely honest, I play "Closing Time" most of all.
Not because of his voice, but the album somehow touches me. I love it.
Raindogs comes right after that

This. 100%

I also don't much understand the unrelenting passion for Bone Machine, but at least that album is rock solid.
