I have tried using MM, but it crashes on my computer every time I try to play music. I am sure it is something conflicting on my computer, but when WinAmp, Windows Media Player, and iTunes all work fine I don't feel the need to try and fix it.
I might check out Foobar though, I have heard great things from co-workers and friends about it. |

^^^ The same happens for me when i try to run MediaMonkey, i still haven't found a solution yet. I'm pretty much sticking with itunes, it might be short on features and not as pretty to look at as the others, but it does the job for me.

Yeah I think there's something wrong with Media Monkey, doesn't work for me either. I feel like quite a few people on here have mentioned problems with it recently. I'm probably going to try foobar, for the past while I've just been using iTunes though it takes several minutes to load and freezes regularly with the amount of music. Do you have to download a plugin to get foobar to sync with your iPod?

yes, with an addon.
iPod manager - musicmusic's foobar2000 stuff it's actually much more powerful than itunes for syncing. it can read your ipod's library and play music right off of it. it can convert files and embed artwork as it syncs. you can do full auto sync or full manual. plus you can set it up so that foobar adjusts tags as it syncs. for example, i have it add the date to the front of all album names so that my music gets sorted by date in my ipod.

I've used Winamp for as long as I've listened to music on my computer I'm pretty sure...like 7 or 8 years and never tried anything else. Last night I was a little bored though and tried out Media Monkey cause I've heard a few people praise it, and I'm really really likin it.
It does so many things better than Winamp, as well as alot of neat stuff I'm pretty sure winamp never did. It all just feels really smooth too. It did crash on me once last night, but I'm hoping that was just a fluke or something cause I really wanna keep using this now. Also I can't find nearly as many skins as Winamp had either, but that's not a huge deal, even though skins can be pretty cool. I even bought a couple cheap cd's on amazon today cause one of the startup "tips" MM gives is something like, "Buying CD's on Amazon through MediaMonkey's interface helps support MediaMonkey development." Which is sorta cool I guess. Maybe I'm just over-excited about something shiny and new, but either way, I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with this now. |
