Last music I checked out was Peter and the Wolf...

http://www.myspace.com/prokofievthegreatest

As I hadn't heard it in a long time and have just discovered how good myspace sites for composers can be (this one has no visitors at all, but others have some great comments. "Aren't u dead?" still lands as my favourite...)

Enjoyed...
Ministry "House of the Mole" and KMFDM's "WWIII" and "Hau Ruck".
Animal Collective- didn't really like them at first, but I am starting to see their appeal (limited, but it's there).
Her Space Holiday - the Young Machines came out in 2003, and I was...where?
Imogen Heap - "Speak For Yourself". Beautiful.
Liars "Drums Not Dead"- Interesting album, still not sure whether I like the band though.

I don't remember the stuff I didn't like, I tend to phase those out.

Guided By Voices
Man or Astro-Man
Experimental Audio Research
Royal Trux

Enjoyed:

Arctic Monkeys: They sound like the british version of The Strokes, which is probably why people already hate them, but hey i like The Strokes too.

Rilo Kiley: I really really like what i have heard, also, Jenny Lewis is a fox. =)

Nellie McKay: Gonna try to get Get Away From Me when i can, i really like the songs off of it that i have heard, especialy David.

My Morning Jacket: I bought Z, didnt take long for me to fall in love with it.

Arcade Fire: I downloaded Funeral, took me several listens to finally get into it, but im loving it.

Mastodon: My brother imported Leviathan and Remission....Im liking Leviathan especially.

Didnt enjoy:

Neutral Milk Hotel: Meh, it must be me, but why indie kids everywhere worship this band is a total mystery to me, i fell asleep halfway through In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, it was soooooooo bland and boring for me, like half assed Woody Guthrie covers with a brass section, but to no improvement.

Good choices. And I can see what you're saying on NMH.

!!! NMH is an amazing band. I guess it's just different strokes for different folks. Funny, NMH is almost like a prog band. If they aren't already considered some kind of Neo - Prog. Two Headed Boy, Holland 1945, Oh! Comely.....all great songs.

You should try On Avery Island. It's different, and I think it's better. Not as much acoustic solo stuff.

Or maybe it's just not your thing.

The Urinals - Great band that reminded me of the Minutemen in the slightest. I'm surprised I didn't check them ealier.

Muse - I re-checked out Muse because boo boo said to. I'm still unsure if I like them or not, it may take a few more listens. The vocals are still bad though.

Death Sentence (Australian one) - This is some good stuff, hardcore from the 80s tickles my fancy but this is some of the better variety. Reminds me of Deep Wound meets another Australian favourite, Civil Dissident.
