Best type of music ever invented?
Hmm, pretty hard to say....
I mean, everyone must have heard at least one good song from most genres. But looking at how many songs I like, the majority of them fall into three genres: Rock, Pop, & Dance. |

I think the question is which is more popular. Right now it's pop because we live in time when rock is either dead or dying ar trying to transform into something new without the usual pretension or suckiness that goes along with such attempts by people who have no business trying to play it in the first place. Rap and R&B also very big. Thanks mtv, american idol, and all marketing-designed music. I think the best genre is blues though.

Rock is-in a sense-making a comeback. However, its not in the form most of us would like it to. Its coming back into popularity with Fallout Boy and Hawthorne Heights, and backs like that. Really crappy rock that involves little talent and no good live shows.
But blues singers of 1920s onward must have thought the same thing when british and garage bands started popping up later on. Its like the evolution of music. Its inevitable. And I still stick with Symphonic Metal/Rock as the best music EVER. Though I'm getting into more and more Prog.
