Default Best Band With Crap Musicians

This is the antidote to all those muso threads that have been popping up everywhere.

My vote goes to the New York Dolls , I have a video of them playing live & to be honest they`re f*cking awful , but they`re just so compelling to watch & wrote awesome tunes.

Who needs technical ability when you have Johnny Thunders

You mean not very technically skilled musicians?

Nirvana, definitely.

Dave Grohl has technical skill, though he never really showed it with Nirvana, he did with Probot and QOTSA though.

AC/DC are skilled, just not very skilled, and if they are, then they really do a really great job of hiding it.

Yeah, Dave's drumming was definitely more clean and solid, but Nirvana was never a really 'clean' band. Chad's drumming was much sloppier, but that aspect of his style made it more harmonious with Kurt's muddy riffs and Krist's clumsy bass playing.

I meant 'clumsy' as in lacking rhythmic abstrusity.

Their sloppiness is what made them so great and exceptional at the time.

Talking Heads in the early years. Tina Weymouth was an awful bassist. Material was minimalistic, but original.

Fear Of Music had some great basslines, as did Remain In Light (though Brian Eno played bass on that album too, so i dont know who did what) so i dont see how she could be that bad.

I will have to go with AC/DC...Though i dont consider them crap musicians by any means, they are just not very technicaly capable ones.
