to be fair i think i think the arctic monkeys are on of the better 'hyped' bands we've had in recent years. What you say is very true, over here the media seem so desperate for a new golden age in british music they'll hype anything with a couple of catchy singles, a good image and semi-decent ability.

Yeah...I like what I heard from Arctic Monkeys. They were just the first band that sprung to mind, because they were one of the most recent I guess. Still, I don't think they, or any other British band of late deserves the ridiculously high level of praise they get.
