I can't believe how this threads turned out. Both sides of the pond have produced and are still producing top quality music and always will be! (However, some good points have been made).

The calibre of these two nations, when it comes to making popular music, is indisputable. The history of music stands as testament.

Brits v. Yanks???

What about the rest of the world?
What's their contribution?

Take Croatia for example.

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

Right-Track name a totally Croatian band. Scandanavia (Spelling?) has some good bands besides metal bands.

I already pitched in for Germany and krautrock, but went unnoticed.

As for the rest of the world...

1. Canada - Besides putting out a ton of great Indie Rock bands, Canada has Constellation Records. 'Nuff said.
2. Sweden - Good bands in just about every genre you can think of, but I'd probably rate them this high just for the amount of Indie Pop they're putting out right now.
3. France - French Pop, some great Electronic artists, and some great Screamo bands.
4. Germany - For Krautrock and one of my favorite record labels, Kompakt.
5. Japan - Boris + Mono + Green Milk from the Planet Orange = Love (plus a ton of other stuff)

Well if I named every country that I knew one good band from, I'd have a much longer list.

Oh, and honorary mentions to Norway, Belgium, and Brazil.
