Ugh. Well, you have bad taste...so you've just nullified your point. Oh well.

Yeah, I have bad taste. That one band has just made the rest of my record collection totally obsolete.

Well personally I love Is This It? and I don't feel inferior because of it.:)

It's musical preference, my friend. And my musical preference happens to lean towards British music, as it is where I am born and bred and I can relate to it a lot more than I ever could with American music.

Of course, I am not just categorising everything here. I do not prefer all British music, that would be horribly ignorant of me. I do, however, like a lot more British bands than I do American bands.

Maybe it's because I like to hear songs about drunken nights out and not songs constantly referencing the war in Iraq/stupid politicians.

You should listen to AC/DC then.

TrampInaTux 01-28-2007 02:20 PM

maybe not.

Hm. I forgot to add, that FOR THE MOST PART, bands from America who do get the emotion behind music are usually inspired by British bands.

American music is pissing all over british music at the moment, theres a ratio of 1 good british band to 3 good american bands.

New Weird America is pretty cool. And there's probably more good underground hip-hop artists from the US. I'm not sure exactly what the ratio is in terms of post-rock... those are the big three genres I stay on top of in terms of new artists, so I guess I would consider the US ahead at the moment.
