I think it's a stupid question. Most musicians nowadays listen to and allow themselves to be influenced by bands from countless nationalities, to the extent where what country you're from hardly even factors into making music anymore. Plus, for the most part, neither country has any completely distinctive genres that differentiate it from the other.

True, they may not be that different anymore, but you can still decide which continent makes the better music judged upon different things. It's like comparing two bands with in the same genre with the same style of music-there's always going to be one band you like a little bit more.

yeah but the sensibility of a "yank" and a "brit" is much diffrent. For some reason you people adore Brian Eno, and I don't really get why.

Not me personally, but htere are rabid Dave matthews Band fans here, and for these forums I gather that no one there could give a **** any less.

There will never be a clear decision on which side of the pond does music best, just like there is really no clear decision on any arguments in this forum. I just wondered what you peoples thoughts would be on this issue. Now could people please stop going on about this and either answer the question or just forget about it. This thread is for people who care about the issue, not for people who want to prove the creation of this thread is pointless just to make themselves look more intelligent. I haven't broken any rules with this thread, so it's still a valid thread. Now either answer the question, or be gone.

I have to admit the British do have dreadful food. You can't describe how spotted d!ck tastes like, and although it's a pretty bland pudding it is nice with some custard! Yum!

Aren't the Cars and Bruce Hornsby American.
I don't really know. I just assumed that they were British because they're good.

Quote:
Im almost certain the cars are from Boston and maybe im confusing Hornsby because he went to Berklee School of music (in boston).
Maybe they were from Boston, but I didn't know. They could also have been from the original Boston (the village of Boston in Southern England, from which the new American city got it's name).

You said brits are making, implying that its still currently being made well, and your first two out of the gate are people who, if their making music, its complete ****.
Sorry but that was just a load of jibberish. Anyway, they're just your own crackpot views. Would you like to consider what really is good music, instead of putting to people the hopelessness of your 'views'?

Did you actually buy Gilmore's new album?
Who the hell are they??!

- Maybe that says something about how 'good' they are....

And I can't recall one decent thing prodigy did this century.
So what??? They've done some great stuff in the past, and that proves that they can make good music. And they're British.

Hahaha I love that you disproved your own argument. Fan-fukcin'-tastic.
