Okay for all-time I'm going to say British but about 99.9% of that goes back to all the great British Invasion bands and the fact that Bob Marley was half British.

Well it could be argued that it was Britains Jamaican population were the defining factor in his career.
It was his gig at Londons Rainbow theatre where the live album was recorded that gave him mainstream success.

Ok, lets pick 2 of the UKs all time greatest rock bands, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones...Then pair them up against 2 great american bands, The Beach Boys and The Velvet Underground perhaps?....Or maybe CCR, The Doors, The Grateful Dead, The Ramones, Allman Brothers, Frank Zappa, Nirvana or Janis Joplin?....All great artists, but none of them come close to The Stones or The Beatles.

America does have Bob Dylan and Elvis, but it could be argued that The Stones and The Beatles had more significant musical and cultural impact.

Yeah, cause two bands alone can decide which ones better! How about we compare Busted to Sunny Day Real Estate next?

No it absolutly could not. I don't even like Elvis but he was rock and roll, and he had such a world wide impact.

Im not even giong to get started on Dylan.

Im sure it could be argued, but those people are the same who like side two of tattoo you.

So we're giving countries bands that accepted them first? I'll do my research and go find out who gets what in this trade.

?

Elvis wasnt as original as people made him out to be, he took ideas from several of his peers, Ricky Nelson, Bo Diddley and Roy Orbison for example.
