So then these diverse American indie acts , where can I find a few that mix the likes of rock, soul , psychadelia , funk , dance , electronica and so on in the way that people like Primal Scream , David Homes , Koushik and others do here?

there's no use trying to debate why the mars volta are brilliant as you've obviously made up your mind and i respect that. in my personal opinion, they are, along with the white stripes and queens of the stone age, the best rock band america has produced in the last 2 decades....

2 Decades? I love them too but you look over a vast amount of musical culture with such words.

well, instead of giving such a vague answer, you should have just named some better bands so i can tell you if i agree and have possibly overlooked someone....

Belle & Sebastian and Explosions in the Sky are totally the best bands of the past two decades.
