Extremely good band.

Got to say im with those who say whwh is too experimental. Its got some good music but id say its my least faveourite from the 4 main albums.

Self Titled is probably my faveourite though, although the bananna album probably had a larger impact on music the other self titled is just achingly beautiful from start to finish.

Fair play to whoever posted stephanie says, I used to have a b sides and rareaties cd somewhere but cant find it, anyway thats a great track.

I lost my interest when John Cale left, or was forced to leave. WLWH and "The Velvet Underground & Nico" are up there in my top favorites, but any other release fails to capture my short attention span.

Your missing out, they were not the creative force they were in the Cale years but they still made some exeptional music and became a more rounded band imo.

The second self titled album is absolute genius. I like Loaded as well, despite what many say its a fine album loaded with hooks.

VU and Nico is probably technically their best but i always think of my favourite as being White Light/White Heat. At times visceral, at times trippy, once the first song kicks in i tend to be hooked. I'm a sucker for that old school guitar fuzz.

Well Lady Godiva's Operation has got to be one of their best, if not the best.
