Most influential Individual in Music
 

Who is the the most influential person in music...EVER? Now it has to be one person, so if you want to vote for a band you're going to have to narrow it down to who out of that band is the most influential.

I'm going to have to say John Lennon. I've only heard a couple of songs from him as it's not really my style of music, but nearly all my favourite bands list him or The Beatles as their reason for getting into the business.

Nina Simone, Marvin ***e and Aretha Franklin - It all comes down to what music you like doesn't it?

Not particularly. I'm not that interested in John Lennon but I recognise what he has done for the music business.

I can't believe yu can't write Marvin's surname. Since when is ***e, or g'a'y'e a curse word? that is ridiculous!! Sort it out. What about Gloria ***nor as well? And Michelle ***le?

Arguably it has to be Elvis Presley, as far as modern music is concerned.
No Elvis...no John Lennon...no Beatles etc.

Having said that...it's a tough one and I'd like to see an argument for just one individual.

You could argue for one artist for each genre, but for music in general...

i think lou reed is pretty influential.

i'd argue against elvis... he wrote very little (if any) of what he sung..

Burt Bacharach.

Bach, Mozart and all those other guys with the funny wigs.
