Default recommend songs?

this is probably a half assed idea for a thread. here's my reasoning; lately i've gotten into a habit of downloading entire albums by bands i've not heard a song by. a lot of the time it turned out to be a waste of time and bandwidth.
so i'm thinking this could be a thread where you can ask someone who's already heard the band to recommend you certain songs they think are really good so you can check them out and see if you like the band or not. because if you just go and download random songs from a band you've herd might be good, you might end up downloading their shittiest work. sometimes people haven't made a thread about a certain band you've heard of and this way you don't have to make 10 different threads to ask for some song recommendations.

ok, can someone recommend songs by:

bonnie prince billy
isis
jens lekman
the national
desaparecidos
cat power
echo and the bunnymen
animal collective
jeff buckley
the decemberists
neutral milk hotel
godspeed you black emperor

thats all i can think of for now.

i realize this is going against the spirit of the thread a bit, but i've always found last.fm a good place to find out what songs people like best.

For instance - for Isis look here - http://www.last.fm/music/isis
